  • The Project Veles Invertides Rígides Asimètriques Per Al Transport En Grans Embarcacions (VIRATGE) carried out by Bound 4 Blue, SL is supported by ACCIÓ (The Agency for Business Competitiveness; Generalitat de Catalunya) through the Nuclis de Recerca Industrial i Desenvolupament Experimental programme and has been 43.9% co-funded by the European Union in the framework of the ERDF (European Fund for Economic and Regional Development) Operational Programme Catalonia 2014-2020. The results reached have been: to establish the target market, carry out several studies that improved the design and development, and decreased the CAPEX and OPEX, as well as to manufacture two scaled-down prototypes to validate the technology’s design (internal structure and external cover).

    The eSAIL® Evolution project aims to generate new knowledge about the aerodynamic and structural behavior of Wind-Assisted Ship Propulsion (WASP) systems based on suction sails, achieving the experimental definition and validation of improvements related to aerodynamic optimization, mechanical and structural design, as well as the mitigation of challenges associated with these types of systems.
