SMM Hamburg 2026

We are delighted to be exhibiting again at SMM 2026, joining the global maritime industry in Hamburg to discuss one of shipping’s most practical routes to lower fuel use and emissions: wind-assisted propulsion.

Visit us at Booth A4.206 to meet the bound4blue team and learn more about our eSAIL® suction sail technology – a fully autonomous wind propulsion system designed to support commercial vessels in real operating conditions.

🧍Booth: A4. 206
📅 1–4 September 2026
📍 Hamburg Messe, Germany

Discover the eSAIL® technology

eSAIL® is not a traditional sail. It uses suction-based aerodynamics to generate propulsive force from the wind, helping vessels reduce engine load, fuel consumption and emissions.

At our booth, our team will be available to explain how the system works, where it can be installed, what shipowners need to consider, and how wind-assisted propulsion can support today’s efficiency and regulatory challenges.

Whether you are exploring options for a newbuilding, assessing a retrofit project, or simply want to better understand the role of suction sails in commercial shipping, we would be happy to speak with you.

Activities at SMM

During SMM, we’ll be joining industry conversations, meeting customers and partners, and hosting an informal Spanish-style gathering at our booth.

Dont’ miss:

🎤 Wind propulsion panel discussion

Tuesday, 1 September | 13:00 – 13:50
SMM Energy Efficiency stage – Hall A4

Join our Commercial Director, Daniel Mann, for a discussion on the latest developments in wind-assisted propulsion, the use of suction sail technology on commercial vessels, and what is needed to move from concept to real fleet adoption.

🎤 Stand Talk: Turning operational learnings into enhanced eSAIL® performance. Odfjell x bound4blue.

Tuesday, 1 September | 15:00 – 15:30
bound4blue booth – A4.206

Join Odfjell and bound4blue for a live session on how real-world operational experience is helping shape the next generation of wind propulsion. Jan Opedal, Project Manager at Odfjell and Henning Steffen, Northern Europe Director at bound4blue, will be available to answer questions at the end of the session.

🍷 Tapas, Wind & eSAILs®

Wednesday, 2 September | 17:00 – 18:30
bound4blue booth – A4.206

After a busy day at SMM, stop by our stand for Spanish tapas, drinks and informal conversations with the experts behind the eSAIL® suction sail technology. It is a relaxed opportunity to connect with the team, learn more about wind propulsion, and discuss how it is already helping shipping companies decarbonise their operations.

🎤 Stand Talk: Maximizing the benefits of wind assisted propulsion with voyage optimization. NAPA & b4b collaboration

Thursday, 3 September | 11:30–12:00
bound4blue booth | A4.206

Mikko Vartiainen, Wind Assisted Vessel Optimization Lead at NAPA, and Oriol Ferrer, Sales Naval Engineer at bound4blue, will demonstrate how combining bound4blue’s eSAIL® suction sail technology with NAPA’s digital operational and voyage planning tools can unlock greater fuel savings and deliver tangible decarbonization benefits.

🎤 Stand Talk: Measuring what matters: Data quality and wind propulsion performance. Hoppe Marine x bound4blue

Thursday, 3 September | 16:30 – 17:00
Hoppe Marine booth – B6.136

Hauke Hendricks, Head of Global Sales at Hoppe Marine and Henning Steffen, Northern Europe Director at bound4blue, will explore how high-quality operational data helps us measure, understand, and improve real-world wind propulsion performance. The session will be followed by the Hoppe stand party.
